Greetings as we open for the 2008-2009 season!

This summer was one for the record books as we went through two Hurricanes -- a rare event here in the Turks & Caicos. Hanna and Ike left their mark but we are happy to report that The Meridian Club did not sustain any significant damage. We lost some shrubbery and our docks but aside from that there is very little other damage. None of our guest rooms were damaged so feel free to start planning you next vacation. Our weather is perfect and the beach is lovely as ever.

New this season, the gift shop will offer some new lines of tropical jewelry, clothing and accessories.

When you visit this Christmas/New Year holiday you are welcome to bring your children 12 years and younger. Homeowner children and grandchildren are ordinarily here during this time. There are still some vacancies, but early reservations are recommended.

We look forward to sharing this lovely island with you.

Hurricane Update

As Hurricanes Hanna and Ike startled many islands in the Caribbean, Pine Cay got off lightly, relatively speaking. Other islands in the Turks and Caicos weren't as fortunate.

A clean up project is underway and The Meridian Club will be opening as planned on November 1, 2008.

We extend our sincere thanks to all of our friends who expressed concern about us during Hurricanes Hanna and Ike.

When you vacation at Pine Cay this winter, you can enjoy $100 in drinks, on us!

Every new reservation of 4 nights or more made by December 15, 2008 will receive a $100 bar credit.

Staff Notes

Our head bartender, Floyd Forbes, will be celebrating his 30th year of service. Only our Assistant Manager, Duke Delancy, and housekeeper extraordinaire Esther Delancy, have been with us longer, although we have a number of 25 year veterans.

We congratulate Floyd on achieving this milestone. Staff longevity is a trademark here at The Meridian Club; one we are very proud of.

Summer Projects

If you visited The Meridian Club last season, you probably noticed a number of improvements in the hotel rooms and Clubhouse.

This summer we continued the improvements with new custom vanities and fixtures in all 12 hotel rooms and the lobby bathrooms. New counter tops use discarded conch shell fragments in furtherance of our commitment to the environment. The appearance is striking.

Eco-Efforts

Being sensitive to the extraordinary environment surrounding us here on Pine Cay is second nature to us.

Electric golf carts provide transportation around the island, solar powered water heaters reduce heating costs and we have recycled for years.

But there's always new initiatives. Read about some important new steps to reaffirm our status as a "Green Island".
