DINING

dining on the beachfront of Pine Cay at the Meridian Club - Turks and Caicos Islands

Three meals plus afternoon tea are included in the Club Room rates. Meals are also available for private home renters (depending on seating availability), for an extra cost. Visit the Dining Page for information about our cuisine.

Ringing of an old bell outside the Clubhouse signals that lunch and dinner are served. This quaint practice dates back to the early days of the Meridian Club when it was a fly-in resort owned by Bill and Ginny Cowles. Ginny served as cook and bartender. Meals often required extra last-minute preparation and could not be arranged about a fixed schedule. When the meal was ready, she would ring the bell to alert the homeowners and other people on the island that it was time to come.

ELECTRICITY

The Island maintains standard US 110 volts, 60 cycles -- the same as in Canada and the U.S.

These range from “doing nothing” to a wide variety of outdoor endeavors, all by choice and at your own pace. See “Activities” page for further information.

PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP

(1) A valid passport
(2) AND your return ticket or proof of return ticket which may be in the form of a copy of your itinerary (for e-tickets).

SHELLS

The Sand Dollar is our logo for a good reason - these shells are abundant at certain times of the year on "Sand Dollar Point." Sea Biscuits can also be found along with conch shells, star fish, whelk, and other treasures from the sea. Below is a display of shells found on the Meridian Club's beaches. Sand Dollars are the flat white ones on the stone ledge, and Sea Biscuits are the thick domed ivory ones scattered on the table.

TELEPHONE AND INTERNET

The Meridian Club may be the only resort in the world with a Caribbean-style telephone booth and an Internet room with DSL connections! The guest telephone (outgoing calls only) is located near the tennis court and uses credit cards. There is also a fax (649-941-7010) available for guest communications. A telephone is available in the office for emergency use. Meanwhile, those who want fast, modern contact with the outside world can use our state-of-the-art Internet room, plugging in their laptops or checking their email using the guest computer.
